One day, sitting to have a coffee in a coffee shop, I saw a group of blind people crossing over a road. Such a situation made me produce [The Blind Fumble Around in an Alley] (2008), which was also inspired by Pieter Bruegel (1525-1569), the famous Flemish painter. His [The Parable of the Blind] (1568), also known as the Blind Leading the Blind, illustrated his view – if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into a ditch. Actually, Taiwanese ordinary people have celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival with a lot of interesting activities, including clogs walking. If one misstep in the game of clogs walking, the other members will fall. Although this game emphasizes the importance of team work, it implies that ordinary people may follow their leader blindly.
