About Work

The two figures in the work [Duo] (1994) are actually the two incarnations of the same person, showing that a man tries to suppress himself. The one who straddles his opponent succeeds in his attempt, yet his rising right hand suggests a touch of hesitation. The lying one appears to be subdued, but, in fact, he does not struggle to break free. Both incarnations want something from each other, but they also seem to have each other on their own mind.
