In [Life is a Fleeting Dream] (2003), two clownish figures dressed in flashy costumes resembling a king and a queen ride a “horse.” They seem happy and proud. While the imperfectly flawed and deformed people turn king and queen, the normal people bend their bodies to become horses. In this artwork, I try to express my consistently long-held criticism of unequal society – oppression and suffering. Since ancient times, people ironically have hidden the dark side of human nature which lays behind the glittering facade.
